First Ear Infection!

Yes, sad to say we have encountered our first ear infection in the Lohrer household! Jaycee's right ear has been bothering her since Tuesday. With us not having prior ear infections I wasn't too concerned in the beginning. We have all been battling head colds and I really thought it was that her ear was plugged from that. She kept comparing it to flying on an airplane. She wasn't really complaining about having a constant pain. She would just say ouch when it would pop. Also, she didn't have any type of fever until this morning. Even at that it was just a low grade one. I knew it was serious when she broke down in tears because of it hurting so badly though this morning. I got busy putting in phone calls to get her into our local clinic. We got her in today at 1:00 and sure enough she has a pretty severe little ear infection. The doctor prescribed her some good drugs and told me to continue the ibuprofen especially before she goes to bed. She is doing lots better this afternoon. I just pray that this our last bout with the ear infections. I am so thankful that this was our first. As much as I hate for my kids to be sick, I do enjoy all the extra snuggle time I get, though!!!!

The Fadden Family visit!!!

Well, I am going to by pass this week's Wordless Wednesday! I know that things are about to get crazy busy with Thanksgiving next week, our 25 days Christmas, and then Andy and Marilee coming to visit. I thought I would take a moment to share all the fun we had with Nate, Kate, and Riley!!!

We had such a great time with the Fadden family! It was so wonderful to spend several days with them just hanging out, chatting, and watching the kids play! Can I tell you how adorable Riley Bruce is?!?!?! It was so fun to watch him interact with Jaycee and Jackson. He has such a preciously cute personality!!! He really bonded well with Jaycee! It took Jackson a couple of days to realize that it was okay for him to relent his role as protector and defender of his territory! HA!HA!

Nate was able to make the rounds with Byron everyday. Thursday my dad took Nate and Byron fishing at Lake Texhoma. Kate, the kids, and I just hung around home relaxing and letting the kids play. On Friday we headed over to Arbuckle Wilderness. It was an absolutely gorgeous day and its so fun to see exotic animals up close and personal. That evening the guys and Jaycee went to the Velma football game. On Saturday we went into Duncan to play at the park and then went to Loco to do a little fishing in the pond at my grandparents. On Sunday, the guys headed to Texas for NASCAR. Kate, the kids, and I headed North to Norman for some shopping! We all had a great day!!! Monday, Byron and I took Nate, Kate, and Riley back to the airport!!! We enjoyed every moment of their visit! Here are a few pictures from their trip!

Riley Bruce you are such a little doll!!! This smile melts my heart! I am so thankful we were able to have you here for a few days!!! Thank you for letting me capture your adorable smile!!! We had such a wonderful time with you and your parents!!!

So thankful for the pictures I got, but disappointed that it never crossed my mind to sit all the kids down and take a picture of them together! Next time I will do better, I hope!!!

Baby Shower

On November 1, 2009 I was apart of giving one of my dear friends a baby shower. Allison, is expecting her second baby in just a few short weeks. She has once again been blessed with a baby girl. We had a great day celebrating this wonderful family. Miss Landry is going to be one stylin' little girl!!! Paisley, the big sis, made off quite nicely too at the shower! The shower came together very well and it was a great success!!! I am disappointed with the lack of pictures I actually got at the shower. I was too busy cutting the cake, setting up the gift table, and so forth. I did get a few! Here are some of the pictures! Hope you enjoy!

The flower in the diaper were the centerpieces for each table at the shower. They were on a black tablecloth then surrounded by pink jewels. It was very simple, but cute. Unfortunately, I didn't get a picture of a table! The onesie and name board were my gifts to baby Landry!!!

So thankful for my wonderful friend, Serah, who helped me create the gifts for Landry.

The name board turned out adorable! So wished I would have gotten a picture of it after I added the white tulle. I stretched tulle across the top of the board to make it easy to hang on the wall! The tulle really brought out the little white flowers on the board!

How amazingly cute is this cake?!?!?! A girl in our town makes these!!! She does a fantastic job and they are ridiculously cheap!!! I have a feeling that I will be using her to make Jackson and Jaycee's birthday cakes in the future!!!

The cake table!

The food and punch table!

The gifts!!! Several of these gifts were for Big Sis Paisley!!!

The sign in table!!! I LOVE the picture frames that people can sign!!!

Allison and Paisley

Allison, Paisley, and the grandmas!!!

The shower was so much fun! So thankful to be apart of a great day!!! So blessed to have such wonderful friends in Brad, Allison, Paisley and soon to arrive Landry!!!

Wordless Wednesday!

Since this is my first "Wordless Wednesday" I will use words! Most the time my friends just put a picture up! Some pictures will be from the past and some from the present. Just depending on my mood! This post is for Nana (Byron's mom). Remembering the wonderful time we had 2 YEARS AGO at Stoney Ridge! WE LOVE YOU, NANA! Can't wait for you to arrive in December!!!

Little Workers!

The kids went down to my parents house today so I could get groceries, have my haircut, and then come home to clean my house top to bottom. So the kids had a grand ole time with my mom. They had requested last time they were at my parents' house that they wanted to make brownies and chocolate chip cookies! So mom bought the box mix for brownies and then the already made cookie dough! The kids loved getting to do that and we now have the labor of their work at our house! Which comes in pretty handy since the Fadden Family will be arriving tomorrow evening!

Anyways, onto the reason for this post. My mom "hired" the kids to help her clean her white vinyl fence. Jaycee called the dirt spots "freckles". Once she began washing and saw that the "freckles" were coming off, Jaycee told my mom this really works, its amazing, Mam Mam. Then Jaycee asked my mom what she put in the water to make it do that. My mom kept her composure and answered just soap, Jaycee. Jaycee continued on about how I had used some sort of soap on her hands before and it worked like magic. Seriously, she is 4 years old?! Jaycee continued working and scrubbing away on the fence. In a little bit Jaycee looked at my mom and said you know how much I like doing this (washing the fence), my mom said no how much? Jaycee's reply "100%"!!! HA!HA!

Jackson did well, too! He obviously enjoyed getting to be in charge of the water hose for awhile. Which of course, they all got a little soaked along the way! They both earned $2 for their help in making Mam Mam's fences nice and clean!

They ALL had a fabulous day together! I am so thankful for my mom's help in entertaining the kids for me! Now, we are ready for the Fadden Family to arrive!!!
