The past 2 days have been wonderful, but extremely busy therefore making us all tired. So as you will note the time and date of the post we didn't make it to church. We don't like missing, but the kids definitely need to catch up on sleep, not to mention us too.
Friday was a great day. My mom, the kids, and I went to Oklahoma City to shop. My parents have been busy with lots of different things the past month. Vacations, doctors appt., my mom taking care of her mom, and then just work. We have been busy as well. So this was the first outing with just my mom, the kids, and I for quite some time. We had a fabulous time. Mom was searching for new bedroom comforters. She's ready to change up the 2 guest rooms at her house. The room designated as my room will no longer be mine. I guess its fine, b/c I only lived in that room the month before Byron and I got married. So we stopped at the mall and checked at Dillard's. They were having a big sale on all of their bedding collections. We found some that were nice, but my mom is one of those that has to look at EVERYTHING before she makes her decision. We went to Gordman's. This is one amazing store. Its like a Ross or TJ Maxx but 50x better. You really get overwhelmed by all of the stuff. We found bedding for the bedroom that isn't considered mine. So my mom was really pleased. I did very well on finding clothes at great prices for myself. The kids did really well all day. They love when its time to try on clothes. They love playing in dressing rooms. That is their chance to stretch their legs and feel like they have some freedom. After Gordman's, we headed to Kohl's. Another one of my favorite stores. Once again, I hit the jackpot on clothes for myself. Especially on a dress that I had been eyeing for a while. Its a Candie's brand. It started at $58 and I am so excited to say I got it for $11.60! WOOHOO! I got some great deals on shirts for Jackson too! I found some for him for $3.20! Then it was on to Super Target! It rocks! I wished we had one closer to us! Simply b/c this one has a Starbucks in it! Jaycee got to choose a toy for being such a good girl. Jackson had already gotten his, b/c he needed something to distract him from being so tired when we were in Gordman's. Jaycee's choice was a battery operated Lite-Brite. She couldn't wait to play with it when we got home. She LOVES it! After Target we ate at Ted's! The BEST Mexican food ever! Wonderful chips, salsa, and queso! The greatest flour tortillas! Yummy! I want to go back right now! Jaycee was so cute. She took her menu, ran her finger along like she was reading and said I would like milk, refried beans, and chips please! We made it home about 7:30 that night. Jackson was in bed at 8:00 and Jaycee by 9:00. What a day!
On to Saturday! My niece, Keely, takes jazz dance and it was the end of the year dance recital. My parents, the kids, and I drove down to be a part of her big day. Byron decided he would rather stay home and complete the fencing project. Smart on his part, huh? Its a little over 2 hrs. down to Ft. Worth, TX. The kids watched dvd's and Jackson took a nap. We ate at Chili's (another favorite of mine) with my sis and the girls. After that, we went to Amy's house. Ma and Pa were there so we just hung out. The kids played. Jaycee loves playing at KiKi and KeKe's house. A whole new world of bigger girls' toys! The recital started at 6:30. Keely's performance was the 21st act out of 26. They had 14 dances, then they had intermission. Jaycee really enjoyed it. She sat and watched all of them. Jackson did well, but was a little squirmy. My dad took him outside for a while but then it started raining. At intermission, Ma asked Jaycee if one day she would be on stage dancing. Jaycee's reply, No, I am going to play basketball! YES! That's my girl! Keely did a wonderful job! She is very good. She has a blast doing it and getting all "fixed" up for it! We got out of there about 9:00. By the time we got a bite to eat and got through traffic we were back to my parents about midnight. The kids and I got home around 12:20. So one extremely long but fun day.
Byron finished the fence! YAY! It will be so awesome playing outside without the fear of the kids running out to the road. The dogs absolutely love it. When Byron let them out Zoe took off. She was like FREEDOM! Scooby on the other hand wouldn't leave the rock area. Byron had to go out into the yard and call her. Once, she realized it was okay then she went nuts as well! Byron said he had the gate opened into the house. The dogs hadn't even noticed. They were too busying loving their new found freedom.
Today will be spent catching up on some sleep for the kids and regaining some sort of normalcy. For me its cleaning house and laundry. Byron will finish up the little jobs for the back yard and he might even mow. We are preparing for the arrival of Lindsey. She was our babysitter when we lived in Washington. She is getting to come spend an entire week with us! We are looking so forward to that. She arrives Tuesday afternoon in Oklahoma City. Well, that is it for now. Here are some pictures from our Saturday trip to Texas.
