A house full of coughs!

Both children have pretty wicked coughs. For the first time today, my house is silent. Which is fabulous. That means the medicine, the baby Vick's, and humidifiers are doing their jobs!!! Thankfully, Jaycee has only a cough. Of course, little Jackson man has been sick this entire week!

So as eventful of a week we thought we would have it didn't turn out so. I am very thankful that we had the colds this past week and not Christmas week. I am sure by the time the big family gathering rolls around on Friday the kids will be back to normal!

We did have a pretty eventful night last night. It took Jackson about an hour and half to go to sleep. Which is quite unusual. Jaycee was down at 7:00 because she had spent the day with my mom. Jaycee awoke about midnight and I put her in bed with me. It was probably around 1:00 am when Jackson started crying. I crawled out of bed and went to his bed. He proceeded to flop around for about an hour coughing quite a bit. Then he asked for some milk. I thought, sure why not. It might coat his throat a little and since he hasn't been eating fill his tummy. About 20 mins. after drinking the milk, it all came back up in his bed and on me! At this point, I really couldn't move, so I screamed extremely loud for Byron. I didn't realize that he had moved to the couch b/c Jaycee was sleeping wildly in our bed. So he came into the room to rescue Jackson from the mess. At 2:30 in the morning, Jackson is in the bath and I am stripping his bed.(Byron was watching Jackson in the tub.) Not in the mood to deal with the bedding, I put it in diaper boxes and sat it out on the porch! It was better then leaving it in the house for us to smell the wonderful aroma of milk vomit! Once, we got Jackson settled down and some more medicine in him, Byron, Jackson, and I hung out in the living room. What else did we do, but watch Mickey's Once upon a Christmas! Did you notice I didn't say TWICE? I now have both of them recorded! YAY! Those are Jackson's only request at the moment and I desperately needed a break from the Twice! Shortly after Jackson and I got settled in the recliner and Byron on the couch, Jaycee came out of our room. She joined her dad on the couch. Jackson once again threw up but thankfully it was water this time, but still called for a change of shirt for him and me. Also, for us to gather up some more blankets. At this point, Byron and Jaycee had moved into Jaycee's room. Finally, about 4:30 am Jackson and I went to my bed and we got some great sleep! So I told you it was eventful! How many beds were slept in by multiple members of the family? All of them!!! We might not be getting a lot of sleep, nor by any means do we look glamorous around here, but I do know I wouldn't trade any of it. Yes, its definitely miserable to have your babies sick, but I am thankful that it is only colds we are dealing with. I am so thankful that I am able to be with them every second of it. I am SUPER thankful that I have a husband who is here and helping me take care of our children!!! I do know that I wouldn't make it by myself. I am so thankful for my Heavenly Father that is keeping us safe and protected! That He gives this momma and daddy the extra strength, patience, grace, mercy, and love we need!!!

I am off to bed! Hopefully, tonight will not be so eventful, but only time will tell! I hope by tomorrow I will get to tell you about Jaycee's great outing with her Mam Mam!!! Good Night from the Lohrer household in Oklahoma!!!
